A "dhobi" or washer man seen ironing clothes that he has laundered. This gentleman came to our Peace Corps house once a week to pick up our dirty laundry, washed it by beating on rocks, ironing it and returning each piece of laundry smelling of strong soap and folded neatly. The iron he is using is filled with hot coals. The photo was taken in Pokhara, Nepal in the 1960s.
