I was offered this "book" made of solid gold - the script pressed into the soft gold of the pages - and stored in a rough case made of gold and holding 9 semi-precious stones. The price was way beyond my means even as a salaried American living in Kathmandu. While I did not buy it, I asked and was permitted to take photos - was it a scam or was it an antique of extraordinary value? I’ll never know.
