Nepal’s last king excluded from Republic Day bash (The Times of India) |
KATHMANDU: Almost eight months after Nepal’s newly elected constituent assembly stripped him of his crown and proclaimed him to be an ordinary Nepali citizen entitled only to the rights and privileges all citizens enjoyed in the Himalayan republic, Gyanendra, the last king of Nepal, is yet to gain acceptance as an average citizen, both at home and among the international community.
